Academic Teaching Resources

Academic Teacher Resources is the global name to incorporate:

We are all busy teachers, needing more time to cope with the increasing daily demands placed upon us. Marking, preparation, meetings, paperwork; it seems the last thing you have time for is teaching. Your filing cabinet of newspaper clippings seems suddenly out of date and your witty repartee of anecdotes doesn't seem to amuse your students anymore (or only the smart ones, and they'll laugh anyway if they think it will get them an extra mark).

What everyone needs is a new perspective, a teaching package that gives you all the material and you just add your personality. A tried and tested recipe in which you are the main ingredient in what we have to offer.

One in every three secondary schools throughout Australia, New Zealand and Singapore use Academic Teacher Resources. Over the last 10 years our resources have achieved a 99.6% satisfaction rate with teachers using the packages.

Academic Assessment Items

There are no gimmicks with Academic Assessment Items worksheet packages. What we provide is curriculum based questions, worked examples, and prepared marking keys. Preparation and presentation are taken care of, giving you more time to devote to the valuable areas of individualized feedback, varied presentation and innovative teaching methods. With professionally presented worksheets and materials, Academic Assessment Items allows you to be the best teacher you can be, spending less preparation time. Materials for many subjects are available on CD-ROM in Word Format, allowing you to customize resources for your students.

The educational packages have been devised by experienced classroom teachers and tested in the classroom environment. They can be utilized as homework exercises, material set for relief lessons, in-class tasks, revision work, mock or final examination questions or as questions for topic tests. They are one of the few true resources that may be freely photocopied and supplied with a site licence.

The various packages we offer contain a full program, covering the complete curriculum assessment. Many teachers have made us their solution to the demands of a unified and fresh perspective on the curriculum. I know you'll find Academic Assessment Items packages to be an outstanding teacher resource.

Academic Assessment Items will be, undoubtedly, an invaluable addition to your teaching program. To find out more about the subjects, topics, series and sample questions and solution please explore our web site further.

Academic PowerPoint

Academic PowerPoint has created a new and innovative teaching resource designed to save the busy Small Business, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting and Information Technology teachers many hours of hard work. The PowerPoint presentations and worksheets have been trialled and tested in real classrooms by real teachers. They are an excellent resource to introduce the various topics to your student.

Characteristics of the PowerPoint presentations and Worksheets for Small Business, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting and Information Technology include:

There are 20 presentations on the CD-ROM of each subject area.
Each presentation has a two-page worksheet with suggested solutions.
Each PowerPoint presentation consists of four separate parts, all on the CD-ROM:
(i) the PowerPoint presentation 'teacher version', is the full version.
(ii) the PowerPoint presentation (with key words blocked out) 'student version', has space for students to add the missing words and additional notes where appropriate.
All the PowerPoint presentations, worksheets and solutions are supplied on the CD-ROM topic by topic.
The PowerPoint presentations and worksheets may be easily altered to meet the needs of the individual teacher and student.
Method of Use

The ideal method when using the PowerPoint presentations is to print the Student Notes (3 slides to a page) before the lesson. As you progress through the PowerPoint presentation your students can fill in the missing words on the Student Notes, and make any additional points in the space provided for each slide.

If you do not have access to PowerPoint facilities, you can easily prepare overhead transparencies from the slides provided. Issue the Student Notes and have the student fill in the gaps from class discussions. You have the model answers provided in the Teacher Notes.

The worksheets are designed for use as homework exercises, in-class tasks, revision work, material set for relief lessons, extension tasks or research.

If a student misses the PowerPoint presentation, give them the CD to review in their own time.

The PowerPoint package is a new project developed on behalf of Academic Teacher Resources. Academic Teacher Resources has provided assessment items and worksheets for Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Legal Studies, English Literature, Information Technology and Accounting.

The PowerPoint presentations and worksheets have been tested on a small sample group of students.

Each school that purchases the PowerPoint package, CD-ROM, receives full-site licence and photocopying rights to reproduce as many copies as needed to meet their school's needs.

Academic Interactive Learning

Assessing students must, as a matter of necessity, use instruments that allow them to show what they can do. Any assessment program needs to contain a number of questions set at different levels of difficulty. Questions that are too easy fail to differentiate between the whole range of abilities, and items that are too difficult only help to highlight the more able students in the group.

The questions contained in the Academic Interactive Learning CD-ROM packages are designed to allow teachers to set tasks that not only assess a range of content but also allow access to a wide range of intellectual process skills. Some questions by themselves assess the lower order process skills; while others assess both lower and higher order process skills.

The CD-ROM content in in both Flash and Word formats.
